Fort Ligonier Field Trip! Now open to two children per each adult!

Due to the low number of people registered for our field trip to Fort Ligonier on July 1st, we have opened up registration to two children per each adult. For the chosen program of "Duties of the Day," Children should be between the ages of 7-11 years old as the presentation in the fort may be too long or loud for younger children.

Please be aware that each adult will be responsible for the safety and behavior of BOTH children.

It is also supposed to be very warm on the 1st, so please dress appropriately and bring extra water. We will have a large cooler and additional bottled water on the bus for those who need it and to keep our lunches cool.

If you register two children, make sure you bring a signed waiver for both children and yourself.

Celebrate America’s 250th with the Indiana Free Library on a special field trip to Fort Ligonier on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 9 AM–3 PM. This free trip is open to 20 children ages 8–11, with one adult required to attend per child. Transportation and admission are included.

Participants will explore Fort Ligonier, meet historical interpreters, and learn about life during the French and Indian War through the fort’s “Duties of the Day” program.

Registration opens online Monday, June 15. Space is limited and registration is required. Early registration will not be accepted, so please do not call the library before June 15th. Registration will automatically close when our limit is reached and we are not able to take additional registrations after it closes.

**Please note you must print out and bring your completed release forms (One adult, one child), to the library the morning of the trip or you will not be permitted to go.

Please MEET AT THE INDIANA FREE LIBRARY by 8:45 AM for departure. Tours are outdoors, so dress for the weather and bring a bagged lunch and drinks.
