Fort Ligonier Field Trip

Celebrate America’s 250th with the Indiana Free Library on a special field trip to Fort Ligonier!

   Wednesday, July 1, 2026
   9 AM–3 PM
   Fort Ligonier, Ligonier, PA

This free trip is open to 20 children ages 7–12, with one adult required to attend for up to two children. Transportation and admission are provided by the Indiana Free Library, however additional chaperones will not be provided.

Participants will explore Fort Ligonier, meet historical interpreters, and learn about life during the French and Indian War through the fort’s “Duties of the Day” program.

Important Information:
Registration IS NOW OPEN!
• Space is limited to 40 people
• Children must be at least 7 years old to attend
Please arrive at the library by 8:45 AM for departure
• Tours are outdoors — dress for the weather
• Bring a bagged lunch and drinks

The group is expected to return to the library around 3 PM.

For those who would like to attend the trip with the library, but are not able to register for the free trip on the bus: You may drive out and meet our library group at the fort, but the cost of the admission will be your responsibility. The cost will be the regular admission fee for adults at $17 and $12 for a child. Children under 3 are free of charge.

Please note: This program includes walking tours and possible musket or cannon demonstrations, which may be loud for younger children.

** After registration reaches its limit, the website will automatically shut off the ability for anyone else to register. We apologize, but we cannot not take any additional registrations for adults or children after our limit is reached.
