Marvelous Mosasaurs: Unearth a Story (Kids 6-11)

Unearth a Story this year! Marvelous Mosasaurs is a fun, educational library program for kids ages 6 through 11 years old. We'll have all kinds of activities for our summer reading theme of Unearth a Story.

Our June activities will explore the world of archaeology! We'll even have an archaeology dig box so you can practice your archaeologist skills! Don't forget your fedora!

We take a week break to celebrate America's 250th birthday during the week of July 4th, then we'll get into the dinosaurs with the whole month of July learning about the science behind paleontology. Again, we'll have a dig box filled with bones and other things left behind by some of the animals who ruled the Earth long ago. Think Jack Horner. Maybe we'll meet Jack Horner one day?

Our program are free and open to the public, but registration is required for these programs and is limited to fifteen children. Click on the "Register Now" button and fill in the information needed. You will NOT be able to register for the whole summer at one time. You must register week to week with registration for the next week's program beginning right after one program ends. The program will be held on the second floor of the library in the Community Room and an adult must remain with their child (ren) through the program.

Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty because we will spend about fifteen minutes digging with our own trowels and brushes in the "sandbox" every week. You'll have a chance to discover interesting archaeological and paleontological artifacts all summer!
