A Playreading of Marjorie Prime

Monday, May 18, 2026

What happens when memory, aging, and artificial intelligence collide?

Join us at the library for a special playreading of Marjorie Prime, a moving and thought-provoking story that explores how technology might reshape the way we remember, connect, and care for one another. Sponsored by New Century Club, staged by theaterunscene, and directed by David Tabish.

Set in a near future, the play brings big questions down to a deeply human level. Through intimate relationships and personal moments, it examines memory loss, caregiving, and the emotional complexities of relying on AI to preserve the past. Is it comforting or unsettling to recreate the people and memories we fear losing?

Both haunting and heartfelt, Marjorie Prime invites us to reflect on what it truly means to remember, to love, and to be human, while quietly considering what future outcomes, both planned and unanticipated, may emerge as artificial intelligence becomes part of everyday life.
