Wild Wanderers: Pennsylvania State Parks-Registration closes at 7 AM
Come join us for Adventure Begins at Your Library! Wild Wanderers is our summer reading program for 6-11 year old kids. We'll meet in the Community Room in the Library at 2 PM every Wednesday afternoon for some awesome live, virtual visits from a ranger at a National Park, fun crafts, and STEM activities.
PLEASE NOTE: As many of this program's activities involve a child's ability to follow simple instructions and perform most of the activity on their own, children should be at least six years old to participate in the program. Parent's MUST remain in the room with their children and can keep their younger children with them in the room also, but the librarians may not be able to provide assistance or age-appropriate materials to children who are too young for the activity. Parents/guardians are also welcome to help their children with the tasks as most do as we consider the program a learning activity for kids and their parents alike.
There are other programs for younger children that have age-appropriate crafts and activities if you are interested: Adventure Amigos on Mondays at 10:30 AM or Preschool Adventurers on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. Both require registration.
We also offer a self-directed craft time (The Craft House), on Saturdays from 1-3 for 5-11 year olds and that alternates every Saturday with a self-directed STEM PLAY Day for all ages. Neither require registration.
**All of our children's programming requires parents to remain in the activity room or area with their children during the programs. This means that:
*During programs that are held in the children's department, parents must stay in the children's department.
* If programs are held upstairs in the library's community room (Wild Wanderers, Full STEAM Ahead), parents must stay in the community room.
* If the program is held outside of the library(Stories, Songs, and S'mores, StarWalk, & Wrap-Up Party) please remain in the area with your children.
There is plenty of seating in our activity areas available for parents to sit in on the programs with their children. Please do not leave your child(ren) unattended in the library or other areas because library staff are not responsible for unattended children at any time. Thank you for your understanding on this issue.
