Holiday Wish Tree

Have you seen our Holiday Wish Tree in the children's department? What is a Holiday Wish Tree anyway?

If you visit the children's department, you'll see our Wish Tree beside the librarian's desk. It's covered in bright tags and bows for the holidays. You'll notice on the tags, titles of books with their authors, and what format (Picture book, graphic novel, etc), the book is in. These books are left over requests from our young patrons and materials that we wanted to add to the collection this past year, but were not able since our budget only goes so far each year.

Many times during the holidays, we have patrons who stop in and offer to donate a book or funds to purchase books so that we can add them to the collection. Our Wish Tree offers those kind people ideas about what we and other patrons would like to see on the shelves. If you would also like to donate a book to our collection, please stop in and take a look at the Wish Tree and see if anything catches your eye. If you decide to purchase something from your favorite retailer, we ask that you please choose a hardback copy (If possible), as paperbacks just do not hold up well in a library setting.

Once you have the book, complete our Holiday Wish Tree Donation sheet and place it in the book. You can choose to leave the book in honor or memory of a loved one and a plaque with your name and theirs will be placed in the front of the book. Or you can also remain anonymous. It's up to you. You can leave your donation with the children's librarian or one of the librarians at the main circulation desk.

As always, thank you for your kindness and continuing support and we wish you and yours a Happy New Year!
