Young Adult  Movie with a Menu Connections

June 12 - The Blindside-The family that fosters and eventually adopts a homeless teen happens to own many franchised fast food restaurants including taco bell and KFC.

June 21 - Hidden Figures- A group of female mathematicians who work for NASA enjoy eating chocolate cake and drink a lot of coffee, so that night we will offer both and have something simple for dinner. June 20

June 28 - The Intern- A movie about a 70 year old man, who is a retired widow, decides to go back into the workforce and finds purpose again, he loves a bagged lunch and a thermos of coffee.  Come to learn about another generation, and what is in the brown bag lunch for dinner.

July 5 - Wonder is a movie about a special boy who loves juice boxes, ice cream and macaroni and cheese,  but we will also learn about ourselves and how much we all have in common. 

July 12 - The Green Book was a learning curve for the driver of a famous and talented pianist from NYC who encouraged his employer to try Kentucky Fried Chicken for the first time in his life on a road trip through the south. 

July 19 - Perks of Being a Wallflower shares the relationship between three teens in western PA who support each other through their friendships while going through hardships, and also really enjoy McDonald's french fries and typically eat them when needed, especially for good mental health.

July 26 - Crazy Rich Asians supports some stereotypes of Asian Americans and is also open for discussion of how again we are different and the same.  In the movie Nick introduces his fiance' to how he grew up in Singapore and also parts of his culture that was new to her.  We will enjoy trying foods from a local asian restaurant.
