Education Without Expectation

For over 100 years the Indiana Free Library has been serving our community, offering free informational, educational, and entertaining resources and programs. We are striving to do our best in these troubling times.  Although our building is closed, we are still here for you.

Whatever your research question, our librarians are there to help. Did you know, part of a librarian’s training involves the skills to assist patrons in better understanding and explaining their information needs. Many people don’t know this, but you can ask a librarian questions that have nothing to do with finding library materials.  Email us at reference@indianafreelibrary.org for a virtual reference consultation.

That said, readers advisory, or helping people find the right book/movie/music, is also a standard library service. If you’re not sure what to read/watch/listen to next, just ask!

We are offering online programs and events for all ages. Library programs are free and open to the public.  Join us for storytimes, book clubs, crafting clubs, and more!  Just like us on Facebook to find all of these great programs.

We are still providing access to digital resources including ebooks, research databases, as well as online courses.  Check out the digital services page to find a full list of our online resources.
