Russell Shorto Book Discussion and Signing

Russell Shorto, author of the bestsellers Smalltime, Revolution Song, Amsterdam, and The Island at the Center of the World, is the director of the New Amsterdam Project at the New York Historical. Will be at the Indiana Free Library on April 22nd at 5pm for a book signing and reception.
Mr Shorto will be in town promoting his new book: TAKING MANHATTAN: The Extraordinary Events That Created New York and Shaped America which will be available for purchase at the event from The Book Nook.
Russell Shorto, born and raised in Johnstown, PA, is best known for his acclaimed works on history and culture. In Taking Manhattan, he will explore how New York’s founding, growth, and evolution have had an indelible impact on America’s identity. The book reveals untold stories of the city's early days, offering readers a new lens through which to understand the intricate fabric of one of the world’s most influential cities.
