Adventure begins at your Library Summer Reading Wrap-up Party at Blue Spruce Park

Come join us to wrap-up all the fun we've had this summer at the library!

Wednesday, July 31, 2024 11:00 am 3:00 pm at Blue Spruce Park, Pavilion #1. Registration is required, but our space is not limited and the event will take place rain or shine. We'll have food and outdoor fun for y'all at our awesome summer reading wrap-up party this year! What's going on? Take a look!

11 AM: Welcome and unfortunately, goodbye!  We'll have a camp set up to explore and teach kids about setting up a tent and how to stay safe outdoors. Play some outdoor games with us like cornhole and Camping Bingo. We'll also have an obstacle course for the little ones! 

Noon: Let's eat! Grilled hotdogs, chips, watermelon, and make one last s'more!

12:45 PM: Game Commission Ranger Kristi Niekamp from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will be here to teach us how to fish and I.D. the fish we catch! Casting instruction, fishing poles, and bait will be provided (Fishing license for adults will be waived for the event so that parents can help kids fish).

2:00 PM: Ranger Hike! Environmental Educational Ranger, Lisa Meadows from Yellow Creek State Park will be there to take any kids interested in exploring the park, on a short ranger hike around the lake to look for critters, flowers, and other interesting nature.

2:30-3 PM: Wrapping Up. Any questions? Fill out a survey, please! Let us know how we did this summer. What's going on this fall? What is next year's theme? What would you like us to do next summer? (I.e. Continue the blanket program at Mack Park? More special events? Let us know what you're thinking!).

**Please note: The Great Reading Adventure is a separate summer reading program from Adventure begins at your Library. The last day to enter your reading minutes will be Wednesday, July 31st. Prizes for those who have MET or EXCEEDED their reading minute requirements for their age group will be awarded during the first two weeks in August. You will be notified if you have won a prize and can stop in the library at the main circulation desk to pick up your prize. Congratulations to all who read all summer and won our awesome prizes this year! Great job!!

Employee Access, Training and Expectations -- Our organization values, ethical standards, policies and practices are committed to the protection of user information. In general, our business practices limit employee access to confidential information, and limit the use and disclosure of such information to authorized persons, processes and transactions.
  10. How Can You Access and Correct Your Information? You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing us using the contact form provided to you within the site structure of our website.
  11. Do We Disclose Information to Outside Parties? We may provide aggregate information about our customers, sales, website traffic patterns and related website information to our affiliates or reputable third parties, but this information will not include personally identifying data, except as otherwise provided in this privacy policy.
