X-WR-CALDESC:Are you frustrated by how important issues are not being addre
ssed in Pennsylvania? Are you concerned that our democracy is weakening? D
o you need ideas on how you can take action?\n\nPlease join Fair Districts
Indiana County for a discussion of the book “Unrigged: How Americans Are
Battling Back to Save Democracy” by David Daley at the Indiana Free Librar
 y on Wednesday\, April 12\, at 7:00 PM.\n\n“Unrigged” is an uplifting stor
y of how grassroots political movements around the US are forcing signific
ant changes in how government operates. There are chapters on fighting for
access to Medicaid in Idaho\, redistricting reform in Michigan that began
with a Facebook post that went viral\, the restoration of voting rights f
or felons in Florida who successfully served their prison sentences and a
campaign for ranked choice voting in Maine. \n\nThe author\, David Daley\,
is a journalist and a senior fellow at FairVote who has written many arti
cles on gerrymandering and efforts to uphold voting rights. His work has a
ppeared in the New Yorker\, The Washington Post\, the Atlantic and the Bos
ton Globe and he has been interviewed on CNN and NPR. When writing for the
Hartford Courant\, he helped identify Mark Felt as the “Deep Throat” sour
ce for Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. \n\nThe Indiana Free Library will
have a copy of the book available to read before the discussion and there
are many low-cost books available on eBay and other sites. Join us (even i
f you don’t have time to read the book) to be inspired by actions used by
ordinary citizens to enact change in their state and local governments.
