Cruise Into Kindergarten – Meal Preparations

Our delightful rhyming story Bee-Bim Bop! will introduce an important family learning opportunity – preparing meals.  Using crayons and paper, families will draw pictures of foods that are a part of their evening meal.  We will learn some new actions songs and rhymes before moving to the craft table.  Families can take home an “activity card” with additional suggestions to make meal preparation enjoyable. For children ages 3-5.

Toddler Tales – St. Patrick’s Day

We will begin our celebration of St. Patrick’s Day with a delightful story about a little white dog whose luck changes when he rolls in a bed of four-leaf clovers in Lucky Tucker.  Then we’ll learn the counting rhyme “Five green shamrocks” before creating our own special shamrock.  Learning counting rhymes is important because they teach math vocabulary, including number sequence and the concept of “how many”.  Especially for children ages 2-3.

Family Place

Families with children from birth to 5 years old are welcome to join us in the Children’s Department for an informal program where adults can meet and socialize while children play with educational toys and STEM building materials. The program will conclude as we gather in a circle to hear stories and sing songs.
