Makers In Space!: Starry, Starry Night

Today we learn how the make a basic circuit. Using library materials, this program will start with a basic lesson showing what a circuit is and how it works. After, we will create circuits using conductive copper tape and led lights to make our own light-up constellations.

Makers In Space is a building program for 4-8 yr olds, which is designed to introduce participants to basic science, technology, engineering and math concepts. The objective of the program is to introduce said concepts through 2-minute lessons and hands-on building and artistic activities, with the overarching goal of demonstrating science throughout everyday life.

To register for the Summer Food program, each child must be independently registered 48 hours in advance of each program participation, to allow for food preparation. See the Register tab above and register for the event and the lunch option if you intend to stay for lunch after the program which will be served between 11:30 and 12:30. This year’s Summer Food sponsor is the YMCA. Children not listed in the registration roster will not be able to stay for lunch. There will also be lunch provided on Friday for registered participants, even though there will be no Children’s program in advance. Lunch will be available in the Community Room on Fridays at 12:30 PM. The lunch provided is for children 18 and younger only. Lunch is NOT provided for adults.
