Little Explorers: Walking on the Moon

On Saturday, July 20, 2019, we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of man’s first steps on the moon.  We are pleased that many grandparents attend our programs along with their grandchildren so today’s stories, action rhymes, and activities will bring back special memories which we need to share with our little ones.  Frank Ashe’s colorful book Moondance, and the action rhyme “Hey Diddle Diddle” will help us celebrate this special event.  Perhaps someday one of our children may become an astronaut and set foot on the moon. (For Birth to Age 2)

To register for the Summer Food program, each child must be independently registered 48 hours in advance of each program participation, to allow for food preparation. See the Register tab above and register for the event and the lunch option if you intend to stay for lunch after the program which will be served between 11:30 and 12:30. This year’s Summer Food sponsor is the YMCA. Children not listed in the registration roster will not be able to stay for lunch. There will also be lunch provided on Friday for registered participants, even though there will be no Children’s program in advance. Lunch will be available in the Community Room on Fridays at 12:30 PM. The lunch provided is for children 18 and younger only. Lunch is NOT provided for adults.
