Dungeons and Dragons Club

Dungeons and Dragons, first published in the 1970s, rose to cult popularity in the 1980s among hardcore tabletop gaming nerds. However, the roleplaying game is gaining more mainstream popularity after appearing in popular media from magazines to tv shows; most notably, Netflix’s Stranger Things.

For the uninitiated, though, learning to play the game can seem daunting, like building a spaceship from scratch. Fortunately, local gaming expert Dough Wise is here to teach the ins and outs of D&D. This series of programming is intended for ages 12-to- adult and can be joined at any time.

Using the latest edition of the “Player’s Handbook,” Wise will break down the basic mechanics of the game in hour-long discussions, followed by a short play session. Topics include a basic introduction to the game, character creation, abilities and stats, adventuring and more.

Join us Monday, Jan. 28, from 6-8 p.m. for our first session introducing Dungeons and Dragons.
