True Story Book Club: H is for Hawk by Helen MacDonald.

Tuesday, July 3, 2018 - 11:00am to 12:00pm

H is for Hawk by Helen MacDonald.

Part nature writing, part memoir.  MacDonald tells her story of fighting off deep depression after her father’s death by becoming captivated in the training of an English goshawk, named Mabel. The more familiar she becomes with the bird, the more MacDonald discovers that she, like other people, often ascribe human characteristics to animals, sometimes stumbling into a commonality with another creature of the Earth.

Books may be checked out in advance at the Front Desk for book discussion on the 3rd. [Pa Forward Objectives: Basic, Civic and Social Literacy]
