Spring Gardening: Good Bug, Bad Bug
When you see a bug in your garden or on one of your prized flowers, do you assume it is there to harm the plant? In some cases, it may actually be there protecting the plant! Come learn about how to identify some common “bad” insects in your garden, how to treat them, and some “good” insects that might help. Penn State Master Gardener Julie Baker will share her experience using beneficial insects to combat such insects as aphids, scale and spider mites, along with showing samples of both good bugs and bad bugs so you know just which ones you want to encourage to stay. Light refreshments will be provided.
