Spring Gardening: To Bee or Not To Bee

Date:
Tuesday, March 20, 2018 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm

TO BEE OR NOT TO BEE:

COMMON BEES OF PENNSYLVANIA AND PLANTS TO ATTRACT THEM

Join Penn State Master Gardener Louisa Fordyce for a free program on the different kinds of bees that can be found in our gardens in western Pennsylvania.   Many of these important pollinators are in decline and you will learn some steps to take to help all bees, including honeybees.   Learn the differences between solitary and social bees, what kind of habitat to provide, and which plants will attract the most bees.   Hint: sunflowers are very good options!  Light refreshments will be provided.
